Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of gelatin powder – try to choose an unflavoured one
  • 1 teaspoon of activated charcoal
  • 2 teaspoons of water

Preparation

  • Add gelatin powder, activated charcoal and water in a small cup. You need to choose a microwave safe cup for this step.
  • Mix these ingredients.
  • Then place the bowl inside the microwave. Heat 2 or 3 times for 10 seconds. Between each heating, you need to take the bowl out and mix the ingredients.
  • You need to heat the bowl until you obtain a liquid.
  • Wait 1-2 minutes before you apply your DIY peel off face mask.

How to Use DIY Peel Off Face Mask

Once you obtain black liquid, you are good to go. Since it will be too hot to apply, it is better to wait for couple of minutes. When the mask is cool, use your fingers to apply the mask. Focus on your forehead and nose areas. Then, wait for 10 to 15 minutes. Or you can wait until the mask is dry. When it is no longer sticky, peel the mask off. Apply your normal moisturiser to complete your skincare routine.

You can use this mask once a week. Also, you can always add new ingredients to change your mask. Once I tried adding lavender essential oil. Few drops will be more than enough. You can try other essential oils to sooth your skin.
